Abstract

Nutritional status is a method of checking whether a person's body is healthy and strong based on the food eaten and how the body will use the nutrients. It is important to know if children are getting proper nutrition so that appropriate supplementary foods can be given. The purpose of this study was to determine the nutritional status of elementary school-age children in Marindal I. This research is a quantitative study with a descriptive research design. This research was conducted in Marindal I Village which was held in January-July 2024. The instrument used in this study was measurement using anthropometric measurements, by going door to door to the community house. Data analysis with descriptive univariate analysis of data processed with SPSS software version 20. From the results of measurements on 50 children, researchers obtained an average body weight of 28.07 kg, an average height of 127.812 cm, and an average BMI of 16.97, which is in the very thin category. Children who were classified as normal nutrition were 22%, 12% were classified as underweight, 62% were classified as very underweight, and 4% were classified as overweight. Therefore, comprehensive and sustainable interventions are needed to address nutrition problems in children, with a focus on improving nutritional intake and educating the community about the importance of balanced nutrition.
