GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN GIZI MASYARAKAT DI DESA MEDAN KRIO KECAMATAN SUNGGAL

Nutrition is a substance contained in food and drink that is useful for the body in producing energy for growth. Nutrition is a factor that plays an important role in creating quality human resources. Nutritional knowledge is an individual's knowledge of understanding food and nutrients, the function of nutrients, the source of a nutrient in food and challenges regarding nutritional problems experienced by each individual. High and low levels of individual knowledge can affect attitudes and behavior in choosing food, which in turn affects nutritional status. An individual's level of nutritional knowledge affects proper food consumption and the selection of correct, versatile, balanced and disease-free food ingredients. A person's nutritional knowledge can determine what is good and what should not be consumed and avoided. This study was conducted with a crossectional research design in the form of a survey. In this study, the sample used was 50 respondents aged 16-65 years with the age classification of adolescents, adults, and seniors. There are stages in the implementation of this research, namely by conducting interviews and guided by a questionnaire of 10 statements and then analyzing the data by tabulating the data using excel media which aims to determine and describe the picture of community nutrition knowledge in Medan krio Village, Sunggal District whether it is in the good category or not. The results showed that the description of community knowledge related to nutrition fell into the good category. This is evidenced by the number of respondents who answered correctly with a percentage of 89% compared to those who answered incorrectly by 11%.
